440c / S44004 / 1.4125 Martensitic Stainless Steel
440C also known as 1.4125 and 4125 is a high-carbon martensitic stainless steel. Martensitic stainless steels are optimised for high hardness. In the hardened condition this material has a martensite + carbide structure. It is capable of attaining after heat treatment the highest strength it can achieve a hardness of up to 60 Rockwell HRc and wear resistance of all the stainless alloys.

Stainless Steel 440C - Aircraft Materials
AISI 400C is a high carbon chromium steel is designed to provide stainless steel properties with maximum hardness. After heat-treatment Type 440C attains the highest hardness of any stainless steel (about 60 HRC). This stainless steel is principally used for bearing assemblies including ball bearings and should be considered for needle valves and ball check valves.
440C - Wikipedia
440C (UNS designation S44004) is a martensitic 400 series stainless steel and is the highest carbon content from 400 stainless steel series. It is usually heat treated to reach hardness of 58–60 HRC. It is a bearing steel and used in rolling contact stainless bearings e.g. ball bearings and roller bearings.
